The problem studied in this study is the low student result of learning on mathematics subjects. This study aims to determine whether or not there is the influence of use discussion method buzz group type toward the results of learning math of material relasi and fungsi at the eight grade of junior high school negeri 01 Sungkai Selatan academic year 2018/2019. This research is a quasi experimental quantitative study with the design of nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study was the eight grade of junior high school negeri 01 sungkai selatan. The sample in this study was class VIII 1 as the experimental class and VIII 2 as the control class with sampling using the purposive sampling technique. The research instrument uses a written test consisting of a description, consisting of 4 pretest questions given before the consultation and 4 posttest questions that were given after the consultation that has been approved the level of difficulty, power differentiation, and instrument reliability. Based on the results of the test by looking at the posttest results obtained by tcount = 2.880 > ttable (0,05)(60) = 1,671. This means that there is the influence of use discussion method buzz group type toward the results of learning mathematics of material relasi and fungsi at the eight grade of junior high school negeri 01 Sungkai Selatan academic year 2018/2019.
