Abstract

Literature comes from the real society life which is intergrated by author's imagination. Author could give many value and information to reader through the literature.Each values presented by author in his literture could be taken by readers if they have good appreciation feeling. By carrying out literature learning in Senior High School, it is hoped that students could be able to have the literature appreciation. This script consists of some descriptions about the relationship between some problems exist in the novel Di Kaki Bukit Cibalak and Indonesia at 1970. This novel is about corruption phenomenom done by some low-class governments. The crime done by leader in this novel is described by Ahmad Tohari through simple way. Although it is simplify described by him, the language used in this novel is very clear and communicative.Ahmad Tohari also describes the village society life which is poor of happiness because the existence of corruption. The story choosen by Ahmad Tohari in this novel could give many knowledge to the readers, especially for Senior High School students. Based on the psychologic, language, and culture point of view, some values exist in the novel Di Kaki Bukit Cibalak could be used as alternative literature material in Senior High School. In this novel, Ahmad Tohari uses several javanese vocabuaries which is accompanied by the meaning, and it could describe some javanese cultures. Therefore, student could enrich their knowledge about javanese language and culture.
