Abstract

Habit in updating status on social network by using English is a positive activity in daily life because the development of technology in this era makes almost all of students have social network. Updating status by using English is something that is often done by student when accessing social network. The students should have awareness to apply the habit in updating status by using English because it will make an opportunity to increas motivation in learning English. This research paper was conducted to find out whether or not there is significant correlation between student motivation in learning English and their habit in updating status on social network by using English. This is quantitative research in correlation study the population is students at the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 3 Kotabumi Academic Year 2018/ 2019 consisting of 303 students in ten clases.
