Abstract

Understanding the mathematical concepts of tenth grader students on trigonometry is still low. This is because during the learning process only focused on the teacher, students are less active in learning so that students' responses become passive. Therefore, it is necessary to apply a learning strategy that can make students active, one of them is the Active Learning Strategies Group to Group Exchange’s type. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is or there is not influence of the application of active learning strategies group to group exchange’s type on understanding mathematical concepts of trigonometric material. The research method used was quasi experimental with nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were all tenth grade students and the samples chosen were X Accounting 1 and X Accounting 2 with purposive sampling techniques. The instrument used in this study is a written test in the form of a description question, consisting of 5 items that have been calculated validity, level of difficulty, distinguishing power and reliability. Based on calculations using the t-test obtained tcount = 2.558 while tcount (0,05)(69) = 1.997. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of applying the group to group exchange type of active learning strategy to understanding the mathematical concepts of trigonometric material in tenth grade students of Vocational High School 1 Kotabumi Academic Year 2018/2019.
