Abstract
Reading something on an electronic device is known as digital reading, the availability of digital texts has had a number of effects, one of which is a change in how students read. This research wants to find out Students’ Perception toward the use of Digital Reading Material in Advanced Reading Class English Education Universitas Muhammadiyah Kotabumi Academic Year 2022/2023. The sample in this research use the entire amount the population to be used as responders by 29 students in Advanced Reading class at the fourth semester of English Education Study Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Kotabumi Academic Year 2022/2023. Data collecting technique used in this research is close ended questionnaire, there are 16 indicators including 4 aspects: motivation and interest in reading digital texts, digital texts reading efficacy, difficulty in digital texts reading, and preference for reading digital or print texts. This research employed descriptive quantitative as a method of data analysis, and use percentage to distributed the category of students’ perception. The result category of students’ perception from 29 students that has 23 positive perception and 6 uncertain perception. By comparing the category of students’ perception to the 16 statements, the results of the research found that students has positive perception toward the use of digital reading material in reading class learning. So in order to improve the use of digital texts in learning, students' perceptions must be considered.
