This study intends to investigate the phenomenon of Self Confidence that can be
related to Speaking About Describing Thing. The purpose of this study is to find
out whether there is significant Correlation Between Self Confidence and
Speaking about Describing Thing of The Eleventh Grade Student of SMK Negeri
1 Abung Selatan Academic Year 2023/2024. The kind of this research is
quantitative research and used correlation research design. The population
consisted of 228 students’. This research applied slovin formula to determine the
research sample. The sample was taken 15% of the population from each class, so
the total sample was 37 students’. The instrument used in this research were
questionnaire and oral test. Then, to fullfit the hypothesis of the research, the
researcher analyzed data by using the pearson product moment and resulted
Robserved = 0,605 then, resulted the value of Tobserved > Ttable was 4,49 > 2,03.
Based on the result data analysis, it is concluded that Ho was rejected and Ha was
acceted, it means that there is a significant correlation between self confidence
and speaking about describing thing.
