Abstract

This article discuss about children language. The discussion is focused on direct and indirect speech act. The objective of this article is to describe direct and indirect speech art of Muhammad Nafis Al Baihaqi. The method used in this research is descriptive method with qualitative approach. Direct speech is used by him when the content of speech could be comprehended by his listener. Meanwhile, indirect speech is used when he feels that his request is not fullfilled by his listener. Thus, the children will use some modes to ease them in delivering language content or message.
