Abstract
By doing the research,the researcher expects the result of this research is to know
student’s perception on the use of Ome TV for English speaking learning. For students
of English learners, it is hoped that the results of this research will enhance students
knowledge about the creative Strategies that can they use to learning English speaking
skill from use this application. Based on the research problem formulation, the purpose
of this research is “To know student's perception on the use of Ome TV for English
speaking learning”. One of the most important skills that students must master when
learning English Language is speaking, but in a fact the problem condition of speaking
among students in Indonesia is multifaceted, there are several issues such as: lack of
vocabulary, pronunciation difficulties, low self confidence, and grammar issue. The
study focuses on one master student who are active Ome TV users. In-depth interviews
revealed that From the result of interview the student have good perception on the use of
Ome TV for English speaking learning based on her answer this application has become
a application for subject to learn English speaking skill, the subject had experiences of
improvement, she are being more confident in using their English speaking skill, and
the subject also has experiences of the disadvantages in this application. She also face
disadvantages such as racism, bullying, and sexual harassment. The study also identified
some limitations and challenges associated with Ome TV. While the application offers
positive aspects for improving speaking skills through native speaker communication, it
is essential to avoid unpleasant situations like racism, bullying, and sexual content when
using the application.
